7 Things you can do this weekend: 18—19 November 2017

1. Arts and Lights – An Interactive Pop-up Experience at Icon City PJ, 12pm-9pm, 19 Nov-24 Dec (weekends only)

Instagrammers at the ready because this event is going to be lit—literally. Labelled as an interactive pop-up art exhibition, expect radiating exhibits of art meets technology. Too vague? Imagine something along the lines of talking to oversized floating clouds, bouncing off giant coloured balls and jumping on a life-sized musical keyboard. The quirky exhibition is a travelling event by Mah Sing Group so don’t worry if you miss out on this first stop.

Admission is free but you’ll have to register on the website for a ticket (inclusive of a discount coupon for food and beverage) in advance. There’ll be F&B and retail booths as well.

2. Salsa + Wine at CommonGround, 6pm-8pm, 17 Nov

The weekend begins on Friday night itself so let loose and dance to the beat of salsa music. Or at least, learn to, since it’s a Salsa Class for beginners. If you need a little boost, there’s wine tasting by La Cave.

Wine tasting: RM25 for members and RM35 for non-members

Salsa class: Reserve a spot on the WanderClass app.

For more info, message Dolle at 017 871 1603 or email [email protected]. Alternatively, check out their Facebook.

3. Design Link Collective ‘X’ at Koncent, SunwayMas Commercial Centre, 11am-7pm, 18 & 19 Nov

Essentially a Christmas market designed for gift hunters. Not only will you get to look for a perfect present but you’ll be able to personalise it as well. Think elements such as calligraphy, furoshiki stamping and wrapping, customised embroidery and more. There’ll also be a series of mini workshops for you to participate in.

For more info, visit the event page.

4. Leather Buffet Workshop by FabSpace KL at Cube 3, Isetan the Japan Store, 12pm-6pm, 18 or 19 Nov

Make as many leather products as you can from the piece of leather given to you. Don’t worry, the instructors will teach you and they can range from clutches to travel journals to name card holders. Everything will be made from scratch such as saddle stitching the material together and hand dyeing your leather into the colour of your choice.

RM300 per person. Refreshments will be served. Register here.

5. Birch hosts dinner by Guest Chef Daniel Chavez from Singapore’s OLA Cocina Del Mar, 18 Nov

The stream of internationally-celebrated chefs continues to pour in as Birch hosts its first guest chef for one night only. Chef Daniel Chavez hails from Singapore’s most acclaimed Spanish eatery in Marina Bay Financial Centre—the OLA Cocina Del Mar. Expect a decadent 8-course menu of robust flavours and quality, fresh produce.

RM350++ per person. Top up RM150++ per person for wine pairing. For more info or to make a reservation, call 03 2011 5966 or email [email protected]. Alternatively, check out their Facebook.

6. Cross and Flow: Yoga Circuit with Be Urban Wellness, 9am-1pm, 19 Nov

There are just too many reasons why you shouldn’t miss this. First of all, it’ll be held at the gorgeous Pool Deck and Main Studio of Be Urban Wellness. Second, it’s a yoga circuit consisting of three 40-minute yoga sessions consisting of Vinyasa, Power Core, and Yin. Third, post-workout meals and drinks will be provided by The Healthy Food People and Healthy Ever After. Fourth, there’ll be some gifts up for grabs by their partners. Fifth, you’ll be able to use the facilities (sauna, jacuzzi and steam room) after. Most importantly, part of the proceeds will go to charity.

RM80 per person. For more info, visit the event page.

7. Reserve a spot at the upcoming Vintage Tea Collaboration Dinner at Copper, 7pm & 8pm, 23 & 24 Nov

We’re all used to wine pairing dinners but how familiar are you with pairing vintage tea and specially curated dishes to match? Copper is collaborating with Ferlei to give you that very culinary experience where it’ll take your appreciation for tea to the next level.

RM360++ per pax. For more info or to make a reservation, call 012 279 3685 or email [email protected]. Alternatively, visit the event page.
