Coming to you live from Seoul for the second year in a row, the Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants rankings of 2025 has finally been unveiled. As with every other year, it was created based on the votes of the 350+ members of the Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants Academy. This year’s list spans 16 cities—from Jakarta to New Delhi—and includes seven new entries. Not to mention, one Tokyo restaurant also makes a comeback on the list. In case you missed it, catch up on the Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants’ 51-100 list for 2025 here.
GAGGAN ON TOP

Bangkok’s Gaggan claimed the No. 1 spot on the list for a record fifth time, however this win marks the first time it has risen to the top after its relaunch in 2019. It then took four years for the restaurant to re-enter the Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants rankings at an impressive No. 5. The modern Indian restaurant, led by chef-owner Gaggan Anand and executive chef Rydo is known for its theatrical 20-course dining experiences in its 14-seater space that promise to ignite all your senses.
LEADING CITIES
BANGKOK

Bangkok and Tokyo are at the head of the list with nine entries each. Aside from Gaggan, Bangkok is represented by chef Thitid ‘Ton’ Tassanakajohn’s Nusara (No. 6), Sühring (No. 11), chef-owner Pichaya ‘Pam’ Soontornyanakij’s Potong (No. 13), Sorn (No. 16), and Le Du (No. 20).

Gaggan’s second location, Gaggan at Louis Vuitton, was also awarded a spot on the list at No. 31. Baan Tepa, led by this year’s Asia’s Best Female Chef winner chef Chudaree ‘Tam’ Debhakam, sits comfortably at No. 44. Finally, Samrub Samrub Thai, the intimate private kitchen of chef Prin Polsuk, takes No. 47.
TOKYO, OSAKA, AND FUKUOKA

Over in the Japanese capital, Sézanne leads the pack at No. 4, falling three places from its previous No. 1 ranking. Innovative Japanese restaurant Narisawa comes in at No. 12, with Florilège (No. 17), Den (No. 22), new entry Crony (No. 30), re-entry Sushi Saito (No. 33), and Sazenka (No. 34) following behind. Crony took home a second win of the night with owner-sommelier Kazutaka Ozawa bagging the Asia’s Best Sommelier Award.

Debutants Maz (No. 43) and Myoujyaku (No. 45) round off Tokyo’s representatives. The former is the brainchild of Virgilio Martínez and is known for its South American fine dining that pays homage to Peru’s ecosystems and Japan’s produce. On the other hand, Myoujyaku takes French-forward cuisine to the next level with chef Hidetoshi Nakamura’s superb knowledge of his ingredients. Other Japanese cities on the list are Osaka with La Cime at No. 8 and Fukuoka with Goh (No. 36).
HONG KONG

The Chairman starts off Hong Kong’s seven entries, coming in strong at No. 2, continuing its long-standing legacy on the list. Next at No. 3 is Wing, led by chef-owner Vicky Cheng who also was awarded the peer-voted Inedit Damm Chefs’ Choice Award for the year. Caprice in the Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong jumped 14 spots to No. 18, Neighbourhood takes No. 21, Mono No. 24, and new entry Estro at No. 32. Ando is the last Hong Kong restaurant on the list at No. 41.
SINGAPORE

Also with seven entries on the list, Singapore continues its streak of having a strong representation on the Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants rankings. Leading this year’s entries is chef Julien Royer’s Odette (No. 7), which has consistently ranked in the top 10 since 2017.

A little further down the list, chef Sebastien Lepinoy’s Les Amis jumps 10 spots up to No. 28, while chef LG Han’s Labyrinth takes No. 37. Burnt Ends follows closely at No. 38, with Meta and Seroja standing right behind at No. 39 and No. 40. Finally, Euphoria clinches the No. 48 spot with its high-quality vegetable-forward cooking.
SEOUL

With four entries, Seoul is also relatively well-represented on the Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2025 list. Mingles is the top-ranked restaurant at No. 5, known for its seasonal Korean cuisine that takes influences from Hong Kong and Europe. Onjium is at No. 10, while 7th Door is at No. 23. Chef Jongwon Son’s Eatanic Garden makes an impressive debut at No. 25, which earned it the Highest New Entry Award.
