In case you missed it, Barbiecore has absolutely dominated this year’s trend reports, and for good reason too. The first teaser trailer for the highly-anticipated Margot Robbie-led Barbie film was dropped in December of last year, and ever since it has inspired a wave of hot pink and glitter galore across every Pinterest beauty board and Instagram explore page. Of course, we only expect the hype around the trend to build, given that the movie premieres in just under a week.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll know that absolutely no one on the entire internet has been able to stop talking about their plans for their Barbie movie outfits. As such, we can only assume that you’re already well into planning your look for the day and that it’s a certifiable jaw-dropper. We’re picturing cute little co-ords, polished updos and, of course, a whole lot of pink. That said, while we’d never doubt your vision or your organisational skills, we just want to make sure that you’re covered on all fronts. So, if you’ve already ticked off your makeup look, hair picks and your outfit, there’s just one thing left: Nails.

If there was ever a time to make a departure from your bog-standard classic nudes and French tips, now would be it. The mass appeal of the Barbiecore movement has created a rare opportunity for us all to embrace our inner girlie-girls and try something new and bold with our next mani-pedis—unapologetically. Specifically, we were thinking hot and bubblegum pink, gems of all shapes and sizes and incorporating plenty of intricate motifs.

Of course, while there is definitely room for practical nail art—there’s nothing wrong with sticking to the tried-and-tested winners—we urge you to take the chance to also try something out of the box for yourself; really let your creativity run wild.
