Bathed in a suffused glow and radiating with light. Such can be said of so many things we saw yesterday, as some of our favourite people joined us in a celebration of luminosity with Shiseido. We were off to a running start, having found a space nestled in the heart of the city with floor-to-ceiling windows that served as generous conduits of natural light while acting as a barrier between our intimate get-together and the weekday bustle outside.

But a spotlight is pointless without its star. The recipient of the applause: a breakthrough in skincare technology, the White Lucent range from Shiseido. Three all-new products—the White Lucent Brightening Gel Cream, Overnight Cream and Mask, and Brightening Day Emulsion—took centre stage.
Guests arrived to a warm welcome by Buro Malaysia’s Editor-in-Chief, Terry Saw, and were whisked straight into a pampering session with the White Lucent range. It was an exclusive meet-and-greet of sorts but instead of a musty green room backstage, our beautiful Friends of Buro got a chance for an up-close and personal experience with the new products in a room replete with blooms that would put an early spring morning to shame. As they massaged the creams into their skin, testing out the texture and formulation, while learning more about the science of skincare and the benefits they yield, the ladies were also treated to delectable bites of savouries and sweets, alongside generous pours of white wine and glasses of Virgin Dorothy’s Delight.

Following the mid-afternoon indulgence, an artistic cake decorating workshop was set up for everyone’s creative luminosity to shine through. Frosted and meticulously adorned with real petals and touches of sparkle, the beauty of the cakes that emerged was rivalled only by that of their makers. Cakes in hand, more photo-taking ensued by the flower wall and tunnel, before goodbyes were said and our afternoon turned to evening.
