When we first broke news that La Prairie was releasing their most exciting product to date, a luxurious skin elixir touted as ‘the most powerful rejuvenating potion to emerge from the La Prairie labs’, we wondered ‘what is this magic’?
To experience the drop of magic, La Prairie whisked us off to St Regis Kuala Lumpur (in a stretch limo, no less), where we were treated to an intimate dinner, followed by an indulgent facial treatment, featuring the star of the evening, the new La Prairie Platinum Rare Cellular Night Elixir.
Fans of the brand would already know of La Prairie’s Exclusive Cellular Complex, which delivers essential nutrients to the skin to promote optimal cellular structure. The Night Elixir offers the highest concentration of this precious Complex, which is further combined with the Advanced Platinum Complex, a blend of rare, active ingredients, which aids in respiration, detoxification and immunity. The bottle itself is a masterpiece to behold and is made to complement the Platinum Rare Cellular Cream. The Night Elixir is encapsulated within a weighty cylindrical bottle that took some three years to perfect. Instead of the usual screw-cap top, the cap is magnetised and opens to reveal the chrome-finished stopper, which reflects the gleam of the Night Elixir itself. A precise dropper releases just the right amount of Night Elixir needed each night—just one generous pea-sized drop is enough for the product to work its magic on the skin.
Velvety smooth in texture, the Night Elixir absorbs almost instantly to a dry, cashmere-soft finish and leaves a delicate floral scent on the skin. I have combination skin, with my T-zone being fairly oily but I found the Night Elixir to be just the right texture for my skin, without making it feel weighed down with grease.
