5 Liquid lipsticks that will convert anyone who’s not a fan of this trend

When it comes to lip products, no one lippie has elicit quite a relationship like the liquid lipstick. A standout formula is one that has a combination of everything you need in a perfect lipstick: it stays put forever, and we mean despite all the noodle-slurping, drink-sipping, or whatever it is your lips come in contact with; the colour payoff has gotta be amazing that you’d pick it over a lipstick in a heartbeat; and the most obvious reason—it doesn’t leave your lips feeling like paint peeling off the wall.

But for those who’ve encountered the least favourable of these lipsticks—pretty much not checking any of the above-mentioned factors, put your liquid-lipstick-KonMari-ing on hold for a second. We give you five new reasons to take on this lipstick trend for another spin.

From lip balm-finishes to high-shine lip paints, these new liquid lipsticks in the market might change your mind for the better:

Tom Ford Beauty Lip Lacquer Luxe – Vinyl and Matte

If maximum impact is what you are going for, chuck Tom Ford Beauty’s latest liquid lipsticks into your makeup arsenal now. Available in both Matte and Vinyl (high-shine), this lippie leaves a smooth film on the lips for a long-wearing finish. The matte version is mineral-infused and crease-resistant, while the vinyl’s formula has concentrated pigments in cushioned emollients. By Terry Lip Expert – Matte and Shine

Another brand that’s embracing both matte and shine finishes is By Terry. The Lip Expert was inspired by the Parisian woman and her effortlessness in pulling off different looks while staying true to signature beauty look. The Lip Expert – Shine will give the lips a lacquer-like effect, while the Lip Expert – Matte has volatile oils to give an opaque coverage without sacrificing on the lips’ comfort. Transform your look from day to night with 32 colours altogether.

Fenty Beauty Stunna Lip Paint

Fans of Fenty Beauty’s stellar Stunna Lip Paint can rejoice for three brand new shades that will give you high-impact colour with low-maintenance longwear: Unlocked (vivid pink), Undefeated (purple), and Unattached (bright coral). Fun fact: Rihanna has tried-and-test this to make sure the shades look good on every skin tone, so if you need a non-feathering, budgeproof lipstick that lasts all day long, this one’s right up your alley.

Bobbi Brown Crushed Liquid Lip

We haven’t actually stumbled upon a liquid lipstick that leaves a balmy, plumped-up finish on the lips, but Bobbi Brown’s going against the grain with this new feel-good formula. The formula is infused with fruit extracts (cranberries and blueberries) and an emollient-rich moisture of a balm, coupled with a glossy sheen. Blend it with the lip brush or even your fingertips—it’s that effortless to wear.

Innisfree Vivid Cotton Ink

Innisfree’s matte liquid lipsticks are formulated with an oil complex to allow it to glide easily on the lips while drying to a matte finish. We can’t resist lippies that give us a My Lips But Better effect, so this is one to score if you like a natural rosy tint to your lips. Choose from five shades that are made to match and enhance the natural lip hue.
