Cara Delevingne can do no wrong in our beauty books and her Comic-Con looks proved just that

She’s pulled off a pixie ‘do, shaved her head bald, rocked a plethora of outfits that are nothing short of eyebrow-raising, and even starred in an animal rights campaign with her wearing digital prints of endangered wildlife species. So is there anything that model, singer and actress Cara Delevingne can’t do?

The star made her appearance at Comic-Con in San Diego, California just last weekend for her new role in the Amazon TV series Carnival Row, and Delevingne’s beauty look was pretty much in line with the show’s one-of-a-kind, Victorian-fantasy theme.

The first look by her makeup artist Kate Synnott: a bold cat eye in cobalt blue that brought out her baby blues, full lashes to complement her liner, her signature brows—perfectly-groomed and filled in for a face-framing look, nude lips and a slight flush to her cheeks. The finishing touch was a super high top-knot courtesy of hairstylist Mara Roszak. But the icing on the cake was most definitely the back of her hairdo, comprising a low twisted bun that gave a party-at-the-back pizzazz her look needed.

Our takeaway from her camera-ready look? A hint of colour is the easiest trick in the book when it comes to packing a (subtle) punch with your visage, whether in the form of sprightly eyeliner or a twist or two in the back.

Beauty lesson #2 from Cara Delevingne’s Comic-Con run: switch your eye makeup up to transition from day to night easily. For the screening of her new series, she worked a sultry smoky eye in shade of gray along with more volume to her lashes (as though it couldn’t get any thicker) in place of the cobalt blue cat eye she sported earlier that day. The same lip colour, complexion and hairdo were maintained for a polished, sleek countenance—because that’s all she needs to look this stunning.
