#BackstageBeauty: Peter Philips on Dior AW16’s sultry beauty look

It’s no surprise that dark vampy lip colours are a constant during autumn/winter season, but time around, the usual deep red/wine lip colour has been replaced for a more intense hue of midnight black. Case in point: Dior RTW AW16’s beauty look created and styled by Peter Philips. Here’s how you can make this sultry look your own:

1) The models’ complexion were kept flawless and slightly luminous using the three-step Diorskin Forever routine. “First I applied Diorskin Forever & Ever Wear Primer, followed by Diorskin Forever Fluid Foundation,” says Philips. “For perfect cover without shine, I used Diorskin Forever & Ever Control Loose Powder. For tiny corrections, a touch of Fix It here and there adds the perfect, luminous finishing touch.”

2) While the lips are the focal point of the look, the eyes were kept simple and sexy with thick coats of black mascara to lengthen and curl the lashes: First a base coat of Diorshow Maximiser 3D and then successive coats of Diorshow Iconic Overcurl mascara in Over Black on the upper and lower lashes for maximum impact. “I wanted to emphasize the impression of texture on the lashes. Eyelids were gently shaded in delicate tones from the 5 Couleurs Palette Skyline Edition Parisian Sky.”

3) Finally, hydrate the lips with Dior Addict Lip Glow and line it with Dior Contour lip liner and Rouge Dior in Poison for an extreme shade of plum that’s almost black. For a high-shine, mirror effect, coat the lips with Dior Addict Ultra Gloss Bulle.”
