Beauty buzz: KKW and Kylie Cosmetics temporarily shut over COVID-19 concerns, Kat Von D donates tattoo shop inventory to local hospital

This week in COVID-19-related news…

KKW and Kylie Cosmetics pull the plug on shipping services

In addition to KKW beauty postponing the release of its Classic II eyeshadow palette and nude gloss, the makeup mogul sisters have decided to halt shipping for the time being amid concerns over COVID-19, announcing the news on their respective websites this week. They stated that although they will be taking orders, the orders won’t be shipped out until further notice and any customers who placed orders after March 16 have the option to cancel their unshipped orders and receive a full refund.

More brands using their resources to help produce hand sanitiser (pro bono!)

Coty Inc. (parent company to brands like Calvin Klein fragrances, Marc Jacobs Beauty, and Tiffany & Co fragrances) and bestselling hair brand Bumble and Bumble are the latest to join the fight against COVID-19 by repurposing their factories to produce hand sanitiser which will be distributed for free to hospitals and medical staff.

Kat Von D’s tattoo shop donates their inventory of medical supplies to LA County Hospital

The beauty mogul’s tattoo shop High Voltage Tattoo has made a donation of ‘8,000 gloves and 500 medical grade aprons’ to help make up for the equipment shortages in hospitals around Los Angeles, USA. She also encourages tattoo shops with ‘existing inventory of medical supplies’ to ‘please consider donating as well.’
