The world’s first upside-down lipstick range gets a (lacquer) reboot

16 years ago Dior Makeup broke beauty boundaries by creating the first “upside down” lipstick that soon became an essential in makeup kits of women worldwide. Fast forward to 2017, the brand now has rebooted the Dior Addict Lipstick after a few reinventions in 2015—introducing Dior Addict Lacquer Sticks, a half lacquer, half lipstick hybrid.

“For this new generation of lacquers, I wanted the comfort of a hydrating balm without compromising on colour intensity and shine. All this beauty is within a single stick: our Dior Addict Lacquer Stick.” – Peter Philips, Creative and Image Director for Dior Makeup

We give you four reasons to try out this new lip must-have if its intriguing formula hasn’t blown you away just yet:

1. Dior Addict Lacquer Sticks is tailor made for a sensorial experience. It’s pretty much a lipstick that turns into fluid upon contact with your lips and has a “lip fondant” texture effect. The best part? It doesn’t feel like lip gloss or anything else, so you won’t even notice it’s there.

2. The formula is made of nourishing oils with light refractive indexes that are close to that of glass. This also means its extreme shine properties that will give you a high-shine pout

3. If you’re all about ultra-pigmented colour that stays on, these hybrids have a base that’s more transparent than the typical lipstick base, releasing an intense colour that stays on for six hours via just one sweep.

4. Dior Addict Lacquer Sticks were inspired by iconic Los Angeles spots, and come in four major colour trends of this season: pastel, neon, classic and wild. Whether you’re looking for a timeless red or an explosive neon pink, these 18 shades will pique your fancy in a heartbeat.
