Sophie Turner trolls Instagram influencers who promote detox teas
Sophie Turner as an ~~influencer~~ pic.twitter.com/aSW6tTHNTV— PAPER Magazine (@papermagazine) 8 October 2019
Sophie Turner is not impressed with Instagram influencers peddling detox tea and she isn't afraid of calling them out. In a recent Instagram story, the Game of Thrones actress threw shade via a mocking, American-accented three-liner (coupled with an Insta-filter on that gave her thick lips and pink cheeks).
"Hey, guys, just kind of going for my influencer look today. Today I just wanted to promote this new powdered stuff that you put in your tea, and basically it makes you sh*t your brains out and is totally, really, really bad for me to be promoting to young women and young people everywhere. But I don't really give a f*ck, because I'm getting paid money. Influencer life!"
Turner isn't the first celebrity who's protesting this Instagram diet culture. The Good Place actress Jameela Jamil called out Cardi B and Kim Kardashian West last year on Twitter for promoting appetite-suppressing products. Shortly after, she then started an online petition on stopping "celebrities promoting toxic diet products on social media" on her body positivity movement, I Weigh.
