Tip from legendary makeup artist Pat McGrath (at Louis Vuitton): use a crimson lipstick finish that’s creamy instead of matte or glossy for a chic touch.
#2: Blush, blush, blush
This look is probably a go-to in every lazy girl’s guide to looking good in five minutes. No time for a winged eye, dark lip, or sculpted face? Fret not! All you need is lots of blusher and a good brow product, as seen at Isabel Marant and Chanel. Take the no-makeup glow to a new level with a blush hue that suits your skin tone—whether a coral shade for a sun-kissed glow, or a pretty pink shade for a rosy look. Finish your look with brow gel to keep your brows naturally groomed.
#3: Bucket-load of goodness
The bucket hat has made its stealthy move from the street scene to the runways with a luxe spin. Take cues from Dior and Valentino by rocking this season’s most popular hat—either in a head-turning animal-printed (and veiled!) version or with a lacy, prim hat that draws attention to your peepers. What even are bad hair days when you have this lifesaver?
#4: That ’70s shag
No perfectly coiffed hair can be as effortless as this throwback hairdo. Whether it’s Celine’s rocker-chic layers or Miu Miu’s textured, ultra-long waves, the ’70s shag is our new favourite too-cool-for-school look. The must-have product to ensure your mussed tresses stay messy is a super strong finishing spray.
#5: Coloured lenses
The only runway-approved way to wear colour over your eyes is with finesse. At Valentino, Pat McGrath let the eyes do all the talking with an ethereal dash of colour over the lids—all in jewel tones, paired with bleached eyebrows and clear lip gloss. The beauty look at Lanvin was similar, but in diffused touches in the inner corners of the eyes.
#6: A graphic gaze
Not for the faint-hearted, the graphic lash trend is more than just spidery lashes and the like. Val Garland made silver foiled lashes a thing at Giambattista Valli, with these metallic fringes intentionally placed slightly beneath the lower lash line for an exaggerated look. At Dior, Peter Philips offered a pared-back Twiggy-inspired look with drawn-on lashes on the lower lash line for a trompe l’oeil effect.
#7: Silvery stunners
If the above-mentioned makeup trends have failed to pique your fancy, this last one might just catch your eye. The alternative to a coloured gaze or graphic eye would likely be a textured look. Koche gave us new ways to experiment with our pots of loose glitter eyeshadow with a full-on glitter eye, while Anaïs Jourden let the peepers do all the talking with metallic, paint-smudged lids.
