The boldest runway beauty trends to try from London and New York this SS19

Pastel hues at Marc Jacobs

Calling out to all makeup lovers who can’t resist a pretty pastel shade or two: Marc Jacobs will make all your colour-loving dreams come true with a pastel redux this season. Inspired by a 1950s colour palette, makeup artist Diane Kendal let all the eyes do the talking with a wash of soft colour over tightlined eyelids, thick full lashes, and clean skin with a clear glossy lip. Tip: Take a leaf out of the designer’s book by matching your outfit to your makeup palette—that matchy-matchy look is all the rage right now.

Boho smoky eyes at Tom Ford

The conventional smoky eye gets a luxe update at Tom Ford and we’re absolutely sold. If you’re looking for ways to elevate your eye makeup routine—this is it. Muted browns and flecks of gold give the eyes a sultry yet sophisticated look, with gold on the lid, rose at the inner corners and brown wings, while strong brows complement the look altogether. Not forgetting, a pat down with the new Traceless Touch Foundation Satin-Matte Cushion Compact by Tom Ford Beauty to give the complexion a flawless finish.

Flower power at Rodarte

Floral crowns are still reigning this season, and we couldn’t be more thrilled. A radical departure from last season’s baby-breath dotted hairdo, Rodarte upsizes the floral hair accessory with sizable fresh roses decking models’ heads. The blooms were dyed to match the clothing, some of which were woven into elaborately messy braids for a romantic yet new-age effect.

Coloured streaks at Lanyu

If you’ve always wanted to dye your hair an unusually bold colour but can’t find the guts to do so, Lanyu’s got an idea how to. Embrace your inner wild child with neon streaks in your hair, as seen backstage at Lanyu. Weave in extensions of vairous eye-catching colours to braids and have your eye makeup sync with it too, if you’re feeling a tad adventurous.

Textured lips at Jeremy Scott

Jeremy Scott has got party-ready makeup down pat with brilliant textured lips in hues of rose gold and purple, giving models a futuristic-chic look coupled with bare face and clean skin. Not a fan of glitter on the lips? This foil-like effect is your new go-to.

Taupe cat-eye at Burberry

We can’t resist a strong cat-eye, especially when it’s an exaggerated flick like this look on supermodel Jourdan Dunn. Makeup artist Pat McGrath is giving us life with this subtle taupe-hued cat eye, complemented with nude lips for Riccardo Tisci’s debut at Burberry.

Double bows at Emilia Wickstead

Why go with just one bow when you can double up? Emilia Wickstead’s idea of elevating your everyday ponytail is with not one, but two classic bows—one on the head and another on the end.

Glittery, graphic lids at Halpern

According to Halpern, glitter over the lids won’t suffice so why not add a bold black graphic liner on top of that? Makeup artist Isamaya Ffrench leaves a ’60s touch to this dramatic eye makeup look, with black liner edging the glitzed-out eyelids.
