7 Mascaras you need to pull off the spidery lashes trend

One major trend we spotted from the runways this Spring/Summer 2018 was the comeback of ultra fat, super heavy lashes that harkened back to the 1960s take on full, heavily-mascared lashes (both on the top and bottom). Brands including Cushnie et Ochs, Dior, and Jill Stuart are jumping on this throwback trendwagon, shining the spotlight on spidery, statement-making lashes that are bold enough to turn heads.

While some of us might cringe at the sight of clumpy, overly layered lashes, you can easily elevate the look with a trusty mascara. Make sure to curl your lashes from root to end beforehand for a sky-high, lifted impact. Dior’s creative and image director Peter Philips’ trick is to prime the lashes with Diorshow Maximizer 3D for added volume and length. After coating them with mascara, comb it out to separate each strand, and clean up any falling out with a Q-tip and micellar water. Want to up the ante? Line your upper and lower waterlines with kohl for an intense, smouldering look, or extend it outwards with a flick for a cat eye effect.

Below, shop seven different mascaras to give you plump, thick lashes in time for next season:
