First look at Olivia Colman as Queen Elizabeth II in ‘The Crown’

There you have it, Netflix’s first image of Olivia Colman as Queen Elizabeth II—signifying that we’re one step closer to the upcoming season of The Crown. Colman takes over the role from Claire Foy, and will be playing Her Majesty in the third and fourth season of the hit series.

Filming is currently underway, with the upcoming season slated to arrive in 2019. Other cast changes include Tobias Menzies as Prince Philip, Helena Bonham Carter as Princess Margaret, and Ben Daniels as Margaret’s husband, Antony Armstrong-Jones. The characters of Camelia Parker Bowles and Lady Diana Spencer are also expected to be introduced next season, which will roughly cover the period of 1964 until 1976.

Season two of The Crown just picked up 13 Emmy nominations last week, including one for best drama. Watch the first two seasons of The Crown here.
