7 September (Fri), Soun(d)ance 16 @ RAW Art Space

This month’s Sound(a)nce brings together musicians Chong Huey Ching (file box), Yong Yandsen (saxophone) and Loke Xiao Yun (vocals) with contemporary Wong Chi Ying, SueKi Yee, Wong En Li. Drop by to see the best of improv from both worlds.

8 September (Sat), Billie Blue & The Nowhere Man’s Album Launch @ The Bee, Publika

Come celebrate with local psychedelic folk-rock band Billie Blue & The Nowhere Men as they launch their debut album, Find Gold, with a grooving party at The Bee. Margasatwa, Golden Mammoth and Twilight Action Girl will be performing too. Be there early and you just might get a free drink from Jameson Irish Whiskey—get on it!

Catch British-Chinese R&B pop artiste Lui Peng as he makes a pitstop in KL for this five-nation tour. Expect an evening of groovy R&B because local acts Nadhira, Amanda Avyanna and Wanted Symphony will be taking the stage as well.

An iconic saxophonist in his homeland of Brazil whose success has transcended borders, Leo Gandelman has more than 800 recordings and 10 albums to his name. Revel in his sounds of Brazilian music meets jazz when he takes the stage at No Black Tie accompanied by Eduardo Farias on the piano later this month.

Hear the soundtracks of silver screen classics come to life as the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra presents ‘The Music of Hans Zimmer’. A rock star amongst film composers, Zimmer has composed music for over 150 films, including The Lion King, Inception, Interstellar, The Dark Knight, Madagascar, The Da Vinci Code, and the list goes on.
