Malaysia’s art scene is far from non-existent, but it is admittedly flying under the radar. Perhaps it’s due to a lack of platforms for artists to express and showcase their work—which is why it’s always a joy to welcome new art spaces in town. The newest of the lot is Wicked Art Space, a 3,200 square feet multi-functional space located in SS7 Petaling Jaya.
Having opened its doors earlier this month, Wicked Art Space will be hosting its first public event this weekend, 28 and 29 July 2018, with ‘Jom Pi Merkit’ (let’s go to the market)—an art bazaar and showcase all in one. There will be vendors and artisanal brands from across Malaysia, an art installation by local artist Aleff Ahmad, live art by the TitikMerah collective, and even a set by one half of Dangerdisko, Robotron 5000.
