Are you ready to be ‘Living Coral’ this 2019? asks Pantone

The last couple of years we have had purple, green and now this upcoming year, we’ll be seeing more of coral as Pantone announces its annual Color of the Year. The colour expert regards this shade of orange as a symbol of “innate need for optimism and joyful pursuits” and “authentic and immersive experiences that enable connection and intimacy”.

If you’re wondeirng, the people at Pantone take their job seriously, scouring the world to see what’s trending in everything including fashion, cars, design and culture before bestowing the honourable title on a special hue. The colour authority has been doing this for the past 20 years and we’ll take their word on the ‘it’ shade of 2019.

Coral is a beautiful, vibrant tone that is universally flattering. It has had its fair share of runway moments in fashion and over the years, it has been one of the most popular shades that you can wear on your eyes, lips and nails. But on top of being a trendy hue, ‘Living Coral’ also pushes at our moral compass to drive home the message on the importance of preserving the environment, especially coral reefs that provide shelter and sustenance to marine life.

So, what do you think of ‘Living Coral’?
