Justin Bieber announces 2020 comeback

Beliebers rejoice as the one and only Justin Bieber has just dropped a teaser on his return to the spotlight as a solo artist. Fans of the Baby singer and anyone who enjoys his tunes have been eagerly waiting for a new album since Purpose was released five years ago. Good news is—Justin will drop a new record, a docuseries, and go on tour next year; all shown in a video simply titled #Bieber2020. Some important things to note are the following dates: more information on the YouTube docuseries will be available on 31 December, new single Yummy will be out on 3 January 2020, and 14 May 2020 is the first show of his upcoming tour.

Ariana Grande releases first ever live album

This is one thing many of us didn’t see coming—the official drop of k bye for now. This is Ariana Grande‘s inaugural live record and is definitely a gift to all Arianators. Having performed her final show of The Sweetener Tour in California, the latest drop consists of performances from the said tour. There are 29 tracks on k bye for now and features guests such as Big Sean, Childish Gambino, and Nicki Minaj. You can listen to the album here.

Watch the trailer for Christopher Nolan’s new film

The first look at Tenet is here and you should definitely check it out. Similar to his previous movies, Christopher Nolan’s upcoming project is ambitious—both visually and conceptually. In the trailer, some familiar faces can be spotted, such as John David Washington, Elizabeth Debicki, Robert Pattinson, Chris Nolan Hair, and Kenneth Branagh. Also involved in Tenet are Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Michael Caine, and Dimple Kapadia. The Christopher Nolan-written and -directed film is slated to premiere on 17 July 2020. Red Velvet’s Wendy suffers multiple injuries during rehearsal

By multiple injuries, Wendy had facial, pelvic, and wrist damages. By rehearsal, it was when she was practicing for her SBS Gayo Daejun performance. Due to the unfortunate incident, she was unable to perform during the night’s event. SM Entertainment, the girl group’s agency, said that the accident happened when Wendy fell from a platform and was sent to the hospital immediately. Details revealed later showed that she was rehearsing for her solo stage. According to a witness, “Wendy climbed the second floor tunnel and prepared to walk down the stairs as prepared but the lift didn’t go up. At that moment, she lost her balance and fell 2.5 metres down to the stage in a defenseless state”. Unfortunately, the singer will be out for awhile. SBS has also issued an apology.

Allee Willis, Friends theme song writer, has passed away

The songwriter isn’t just known for writing The Rembrandt’s I’ll Be There For You, she also wrote September for Earth, Wind & Fire. Sadly, on Christmas Eve, the 72-year-old suffered from cardiac arrest. Allee Willis won two Grammy awards for her involvement in Broadway’s The Color Purple and Beverly Hills Cop. She was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2018 and have written for the likes of Ray Charles, Cyndi Lauper, Patti LaBelle, Pointer Sisters, Jennifer Holliday, Gladys Knight, Taylor Dayne, Pet Shop Boys, Debby Boone, and Rita Coolidge among others. In total, her compositions have sold over 60 million records. Condolences to her family and friends.
