Yayoi Kusama exhibition heads to Jakarta this May 2018

If you weren’t one of the lucky thousands who got to catch Yayoi Kusama: Life is the Heart of a Rainbow exhibition in Singapore last year, time to turn your frown upside down. You will now get another chance to see large-scale works of the famous artist at Museum Macan, Jakarta. Opening this 12 May, Jakarta will be the third and final stop of Kusama’s Life is the Heart of a Rainbow exhibition after Singapore and Brisbane, Australia.

This will be an opportunity to see more than 130 works created by Yayoi Kusama over the span of 70 years. Also scheduled to go on display are some works that have never been showcased before at the previous two locations. You will also be pleased to know that you can freely explore the exhibition area without time limitation – as long as you enter in between the two hours stated in your timed tickets.

Kusama is known as Japan’s most successful living artist and also the world’s top selling contemporary female artist. Her signature use of dots, nets and pumpkins is a significant part of her career, of which you will get to admire up-close at the survey exhibition. Not forgetting her thematic and interactive installations are a true visual treat that you won’t want to miss.

Tickets to Yayoi Kusama: Life is the Heart of a Rainbow is currently on sale, so if you don’t want to miss out again on this exhibition, you know what to do. The exhibition runs from 12 May to 9 September 2018 and tickets are priced at IDR100,000 (approximately RM30) for adults, IDR90,000 (approximately RM25) for senior/students and IDR80,000 (approximately RM22) for children.
