The It-girl guide to ultra-glamorous holiday dressing

Christmas may be over, but the year-end celebrations continue as we countdown to 2019 (PS: Can you believe it’s the end of another year already?). While LBDs and sleek pantsuits will always be the fail-proof picks for any occasion, we’re ready to jazz things up and give the festive dressing a new name this season. Instead of shopping for a brand new wardrobe, we’re taking some style inspo from the fashion It-girls who have all nailed holiday dressing to the T. From Kendall Jenner to Chiara Ferragni, check out and emulate what these oh-so-stylish ladies wore for their year-end soirees, and be prepared to stand out (in the best way possible). If not now, then when?

Kendall Jenner

If you didn’t know already, neon hues are one of the top comeback trends of 2018, and by the looks of it, it’s not stopping anytime soon. Joining the likes of her sister, Kim Kardashian (who was on a roll with the bright and bold colour back in August), is Kendall Jenner who was spotted at her family Christmas celebration in a neon green off-shoulder gown (paired with matching-hued heels, no less). It’s the perfect hue to stand out in an all-white party, for sure.

Sofia Richie

Sofia made waves recently when she was spotted vacationing with her beau, Scott Disick, and his ex, Kourtney Kardashian, and at the Kardashian’s Christmas party, she continued to wow with her outfit of choice—a corset gown with an asymmetrical hemline that was the perfect balance between chic and sexy. To accessorise her look, the 20-year-old opted for chunky chain jewellery that gave the overall ensemble that bit of edge.

Alexa Chung

Although we’re all for more-is-more looks this season, LBDs will always have a special place in our heart. We love how Alexa Chung styled her mini slip dress over a pair of sheer tights, exuding a hint of sensual allure. But the focal point of the look, is definitely the embellished ankle straps that added the much-needed touch of sparkle.

Chiara Ferragni

Like Alexa, Chiara Ferragni, too, went for an all-black look, but the difference, was how she included some print-clashing (and a dash of shine) into the mix. She juxtaposed the star motif with cool leopard prints, pulled together with a pair of stark black pumps.

Kylie Jenner

Going for an all-white themed party? Why not play with eye-catching details such as feathers that are the perfect addition to a festive look. Here, Kylie Jenner opted for an LWD that was anything but basic, thanks to the ruched details, strings, and feathers cascading down on one arm. If there’s one way to wear feather boa in a stylish manner, this is it.

Dua Lipa

Arguably one of the biggest breakout stars of 2018, Dua Lipa’s fashion choices have always landed her on the best-dressed list, and her Christmas party look definitely didn’t disappoint. Like Kylie Jenner, the singer’s sparkly slip dress had a fluffy accent, and we can imagine how it’ll sway beautifully with every move.

Aimee Song

Aimee kept things pared down for her festive ensemble, opting to pair her embellished velvet top with jeans instead of a dressier piece. But to finish off the outfit with some ‘oomph’, she piled on the jewellery by layering a choker and a long necklace over her bare décolletage, not forgetting the drop earrings in the same shade. Your house party style inspo, maybe?

Jourdan Dunn

Dare to bare? Emulate Jourdan Dunn’s look by rocking different shades of nude in one outfit, with a bold piece for added interest (in the model’s case, it’s the leopard-print cropped jacket). Give yourself a height boost with a pair of thigh-high booties and you’re good to go.
