Among them, Bao Bao Issey Miyake shines out, and for Spring/Summer 2025, ‘Playful Vol.1’ takes the spotlight. The collection unfolds into eight series, each offering a fresh perspective on Bao Bao Issey Miyake’s ever-evolving language. 

The Fruits series turns everyday favourites into geometric art, with strawberries, bananas, and grapes forming mosaic-like patterns through quarter-sized triangular pieces in varying shades. The contrast between the bags’ minimal silhouettes and the whimsical imagery captures the season’s lighthearted energy. 

Then there’s the Carat series, inspired by the brilliance of gemstones, bringing sculptural elegance with metallic-finish triangles shaping dynamic handbag silhouettes. Folding the side gussets expands the form, introducing a sense of movement to the structured design. A silky textured material adds to the appearance, complemented by monochromatic mesh and dramatic hardware.

For a pop of colour, the Fossette series comes with a flapped, boxy shape that has an external back pocket for small essentials. Side gussets form a three-dimensional pentagonal shape, while a magnetic closure keeps the structure intact. Available in soft pastels like pink and blue, the shoulder bag comes with two adjustable straps, allowing it to be carried by hand or worn crossbody. 

Meanwhile, the Loop Gloss series embraces transformation, crafted from a leather-like metallic material that shifts from a structured box shape to a rounded, three-dimensional form when worn on the shoulder, thanks to an adjustable cord and knot. 

If you’re into neutral tones, the Lucent Matte series refines the signature Bao Bao Issey Miyake aesthetic with a shoulder bag and tote that fits seamlessly into everyday wardrobes. The Rock Matte series, crafted for errands and daily outings, features handbags with a zippered top closure and three internal pockets for easy organisation. A bottom gusset ensures ample storage, yet the entire bag folds flat when not in use.

For a work-ready option, the Flatpack series reimagines the Lucent tote as a sleek backpack, designed to hold A4 documents and a 15-inch laptop vertically. This practicality extends to the Blocky series, where the shoulder bag converts from one-shoulder and crossbody wear, secured with a zippered closure—ideal for cyclists and commuters. It also comes with a gusset, a cushioned 13-inch laptop compartment, and a top flap pocket for quick access.

Expanding its accessories offering, Bao Bao Issey Miyake introduces a selection of cardholders. The Card Case Matte series delivers monochromatic cool, while the Card Wallet Stripe plays with colour, appearing in light pink, ash green, and gunmetal. 

Rounding out the collection, the Kuro series will entice professionals with nine meticulously crafted pieces, including a backpack, saddle bag, card case, and clam wallet. Available in sand beige, these bags work best for both daily life use and outdoor settings. 

With ‘Playful Vol. 1’, Bao Bao Issey Miyake continues to push the boundaries of geometry and creativity, proving that fashion can be both dynamic and essential.
