LFW SS16: Sibling

Inspired by “the youthful spirit of St. Tropez”, designers Sid Bryan and Cozette McCreery offered a line of beach staples in predominant hues of lemon, lilac and mint, which together with bold prints—think loud sequin leopard prints, presented a colourful tribute to the label’s late co-founder and creative director Joe Bates

The SS16 collection also took its cues from starlets Brigitte Bardot and Jane Birkin, infusing more than a hint of risqué onto the runway as latex made its way into the spotlight with a translucent skirt, mini dress and rain coats. Moreover there was no surprise that the knitwear brand took an innovative curve this season to incorporate knit fabrics into the collection with its crocheted cape and beachwear, further accentuating the kitsch yet chic appeal. Amidst the vibrant prints, colours and risqué designs, sweatband-inspired headbands and striped Lurex socks permeated the collection, finishing the resort wear with a sporty touch.
