MFW AW20: All the #GirlBoss looks that are the power dressing inspo we need

While New York was all about bold and beautiful finale looks, London elevated its fashion game to new heights with couture-worthy ensemble. And now, the standout message from the third leg of Autumn/Winter 2020 Fashion Month? Power dressing is here to stay. A scroll through the collections this season and you’ll notice the sartorial flair in almost every collection, but instead of being introduced in ’80s ultra-structured silhouette or big, puffy shoulders, this round, the designs pulled back with designs that resonated with the modern women. Shoulders are softened and tailoring has sized up slightly, while pairings included hints of sheer fabric or cinched at the waist for a result that’s equal parts feminine and powerful.

Some of the noteworthy ensembles this AW20 include Act N°1‘s tulle blazer with plunging neckline, Boss‘ lavender-hued suit with an oversized fit that hits all the right notes, and Sportmax‘s line-up that’s made for a female 007 (cue Lashana Lynch). There were hints of retro notes in the mix too, be it Bottega Veneta‘s ’70s shirt collar, Dolce & Gabbana‘s newspaper boy-inspired pairing, and Alberta Ferretti‘s take on ’80s power dressing. But a silhouette we’re into at the moment? A monochrome two-piece with nothing worn under. Salvatore Ferragamo, Prada, and Versace showed us how it’s done effortlessly and tastefully.

These are the outfits that redefined power dressing this season:
