MFW SS16: Salvatore Ferragamo

Models glided along a gleaming white Carrara marble runway (Carrara being the hometown of creative director Massimiliano Giornetti). Large pearl drop earrings swung gracefully from their ears. Despite ribbons, pleats, fur, feathers and ruffle details, there was an austerity to the collection; sleek side parts and a defined brow kept things simple, allowing the clothes to speak. Simplicity seemed to be the order of the day: silhouettes were loose with hems cut just above the ankles in a colour palette of black and white, accented with rust, blue, vermillion, pink and green. Nothing ground-breaking but the clothes were sophisticated and approachable. The star accessory of the show were bags resembling wine carriers: they looked the perfect size  for a couple of bottles of wine, ready for your next weekend getaway.
