NYFW SS16: Baja East

There was a notable increase in the attendance of the industry’s top faces at Baja East’s show, with rapper Common, actress Mariska Hargitay and singer Miguel seated in the front row—an affirmation of the growing label’s ascent in the industry.

The duo behind Baja East—John Targon and Scott Studenberg—rolled with the homies for this collection. It was a parade of caftans, knits, ponchos and tees infused with vibrant parrot-like hues of orange, blue and crimson; billowy silhouettes reimagined for party-going ravers and hippies in for the long-haul.

Textures and prints were of an abundance; there were tees and jackets studded with multi-coloured Swarovski crystals, separates in fabrics of chiffon and silk tie-dyed in the on-going theme colour, cosy knits, and the label’s signature graphic printed tees.
