The best looks from Bridal Fashion Week Spring 2019

From classic ivory lace to deep plunges, the Spring 2019 Bridal Fashion Week saw wedding dresses in a myriad of shapes and designs by fashion designers around the world, and we’ve shortlisted some of the best looks of the season. While Reem Acra, Jenny Packham and more opted for traditional runways to showcase their collection, brands such as Vera Wang and Romona Keveza showcased their latest designs through editorial lookbooks. Either way, they gave us an insight into some of the big bridal trends we can expect for next year.

Deep plunges (like Naeem Khan and Monique Lhuillier’s) and “naked” dresses (à la Berta and Galia Lahav) continue to reign, but we noticed a resurgence of minimalist designs that are beautiful reinterpretations of classic silhouettes (read: Legends by Romona Keveza and Carolina Herrera). That being said, gowns with exquisite embellishments and intricate florals will still be popular picks (we love how Lela Rose fused ’em pretty embroideries with modern shapes). For brides-to-be who are all for breaking traditions, Vera Wang and Vivienne Westwood introduced a series of looks that will make your special day extra memorable. If colourful gowns are what you’re looking for, the former’s collection is made up of OTT tulles in a juxtaposition of hues, while the latter caters to brides who prefer an edgier finish—its cool and modern designs will make you stand out in a sea of princess ball gowns, for sure.
