Carine Roitfeld dishes on what it means to be chic

There’s a coolness about Carine Roitfeld—mother of two, global fashion director of Harper’s Bazaar and editor-in-chief of CR Fashion Book—that’s hard to pinpoint. Her hair artfully tousled, her makeup slightly smudged and her clothes always a little creased. But oh-so-effortlessly-chic, like the girl you want to smoke cigarettes and drink champagne out of the bottle with. “You can’t learn how to be chic,” she says in a behind-the-scenes interview at a shoot with mytheresa.com. “You can learn how to avoid errors. To be chic is something you have inside.”

As the ninth face of the mytheresa.com woman (her alums include Diane Kruger, Alexa Chung, Victoria Beckham and Brooke Shields), the release of Roitfeld’s portraits is in conjunction with the introduction of her BFF Tom Ford’s first collection to be sold on mytheresa.com.
