New York
1. Bottega Veneta will be staging its show in New York for the first time, in conjunction with the opening of its biggest store in the world that spans across 1394 square-meter. The store is located at 64th Street and Madison Avenue.
2. Alexander Wang will be presenting his last on-schedule show. The designer has announced his decision to present his eponymous label’s collections in June and December to match his production schedule. You can expect him to go out with a bang though—his show on Day 3 of NYFW will be held at Times Square.
3. Ralph Lauren is back after taking a break last season. His show will be on day 5.
4. Fenty x Puma and Public School will be leaving the official schedule. There are no updates from the former, but the latter will be focusing on a see-now-buy-now concept for the next season.
5. Also opting out of the NYFW runways, are brands such as Yeezy, Lela Rose and Rebecca Minkoff that will be “showing” their AW18 collections on Instagram.
6. Co-creative director of Marchesa (and ex-wife of Harvey Weinstein) Georgina Chapman announced the brand’s withdrawal from NYFW this season, possibly due to her ex-husband’s sexual harassment scandal.
7. Instead of runway shows, brands such as Gabriela Hearst, Derek Lam, J. Mendel and Victoria Beckham are showing their AW18 collection in a more intimate lunch or dinner settings.
London
1. Most of the LFW shows will take place at The Store Studios in central London, alongside key venues such as the Ambika P3 Show Space.
2. J.W. Anderson will be jumping on the co-ed bandwagon this season.
3. Delpozo will be showing in London for the first time. The Spanish label has been a mainstay in New York Fashion Week since 2013.
4. On February 19, the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton and Sophie, Countess of Wessex will be hosting a Commonwealth Fashion Exchange reception at the Buckingham Palace, in conjunction with the fashion initiative featuring designers from 52 countries. Esteemed local designer Bernard Chandran will be representing Malaysia for the event.
Milan
1. Following the end of the Gamme Blue and Gamme Rouge lines, Moncler will be kicking off MFW with a co-ed show that will unveil the “Moncler Genius Building”—a hub that showcases the new course of the brand.
2. Tommy Hilfiger is once again relocating for his TommyNow show, and this time it’s to Milan. Aside from menswear and womenswear pieces, the brand will also be showing its last capsule line for TommyxGigi.
3. Salvatore Ferragamo’s women’s creative director Paul Andrew will be showing his debut collection for the brand this season.
4. Roberto Cavalli goes co-ed for this season only, and its newly appointed creative director Paul Surridge will be showing his first men’s collection.
Paris
1. Expect a few lesser brands to show this season, as Acne Studios, Proenza Schouler and Ellery have already presented their AW 2018 collection during Paris Haute Couture week.
2. Instead of a runway show, Phoebe Philo’s last collection (and show) for Celine will be a showroom presentation.
3. Balenciaga joins the list of growing co-ed catwalks this Autumn/Winter.
