Hollywood’s A-listers glided upon the stairs of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City this evening to celebrate the biggest night in fashion, the Met Gala 2017. This year, the subject in focus for the gala is none other than the legendary Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garçons—the first living subject to be the focal point of the exhibition and gala since Yves Saint Laurent in 1983.
Stars took on that memo accordingly, flaunting their version of avant-garde while upping the glam factor. Rihanna, Pharrell and his wife Helen Lasichanh dressed to the theme in Comme des Garçons, while the event’s celebrity co-chair Katy Perry brought a gothic approach in a Maison Margiela Artisanal look, designed by John Galliano.
