Three good excuses to get out of town for a little retail therapy

What a difference a day makes. Long weekends are the best excuse for packing a lovely duffle (we recommend something from Louis Vuitton’s recent collaboration with Fragment) and getting the hell out of town for a change of scenery and a chance to recover from the tedium of daily life. It’s the best thing for well-needed rest and relaxation and nothing helps the fashion team unwind better than shopping. Where to shop? With three gorgeous new stores to choose from, here are three ideas on how you can treat yourself this weekend:

Louis Vuitton pop-up store at Surrender, Singapore

For Louis Vuitton’s AW17 men’s precollection, Artistic Director Kim Jones once again melds minds with Hiroshi Fujiwara, founder of cult Japanese brand Fragment Design. The timing couldn’t be better, as the capsule collection will be available at a pop-up store at multilabel retailer Surrender, starting this weekend. The pop-up will run till 7 May 2017 but if you want first dibs on the collection (which is bound to sell like hotcakes), there really is no better time than this weekend to pay a visit to our lovely neighbour.

Saint Laurent at Ginza 6, Tokyo, Japan

Saint Laurent has opened their second flagship store in Tokyo’s latest premier retail facility, Ginza 6. Spread across three floors, the store is a combination of stark minimalism and Art Deco materials, with a backlit black marble façade that stands approximately 17m tall. In celebration of the new opening, a limited edition range of products will be available exclusively in-store.

Versace flagship store at Shanghai Commercial Bank, Hong Kong

“In fulfilling this project we have created a space in which the spirit of Versace can take flight. For me, the boutique suggests an uninterrupted dialogue between our past and future, between us and our clients,” says Donatella Versace on the impressive 684 square metre flagship in the heart of Hong Kong. A special edition mini Palazzo Empire bag covered in silver Swarovski crystals (pictured above) has been released to commemorate the new opening.
