Following the end of the Tommy x Gigi collab earlier this year, the brand has tapped a new It-girl to serve as its new women’s global ambassador—Zendaya. Aside from being the new face, the actress will also co-design a capsule collection to be launched in February. Tommy Hilfiger hinted on Instagram that the line will be celebrating self-expression, individuality, and empowerment. “I love to collaborate with people who are passionate about making their dreams a reality and who inspire the next generation to do the same. Zendaya has become a global icon, using fashion to make bold statements while always staying true to herself. Our capsule collection will fuse her eclectic style with the Americana spirit of our brand”, according to Tommy Hilfiger.
When it comes to Zendaya’s style, the designer was full of compliments. “Her style is quite eclectic. It goes from casual to elegant and formal. She’s passionate about fashion. She loves getting really involved in the fabrics, the various colors and the drape of the garment.” Like Gigi, Zendaya will be touring with the collection to a number of cities. Previously, the four Tommy x Gigi collections were shown in New York, Los Angeles, London, and Milan.
