Style Spotlight: 8 Fashion Moments That Prove Doechii is the Next Big Thing

Breaking into music might seem easier in the digital age, but with countless artists fighting for the spotlight, standing out takes more than talent—it demands grit, vision and an undeniable presence. Doechii has all three. Born and raised in Florida, she began making music in high school, releasing Girls in 2016. Then came Yucky Blucky Fruitcake in 2020, a viral Tiktok hit that showcased her razor-sharp storytelling and magnetic flow, propelling her toward stardom.

Five years later, Doechii has shattered expectations—winning Best Rap Album at the 2025 Grammys for ‘Alligator Bites Never Heal’. This victory places her in rap’s hall of greats, making her only the third woman to take the honour, joining Lauryn Hill and Cardi B. But her influence doesn’t stop at music—fashion has become just as integral to her artistic identity. With stylist Sam Woolf curating her looks, every outfit is a statement, whether on stage or on the red carpet.

Ahead, we break down some of her best fashion moments from the past year–proof that she’s a rising force in style.

Doechii’s love for Thom Browne is no secret, so it was only natural for her to turn to the New York-based label for the 67th Grammy Awards. She wore an off-the-shoulder corset dress with exaggerated hips, crafted from dark grey pinstripe wool, layered over a crisp white Oxford armband shirt and finished with a matching wool tie. A rare sight on the red carpet, but she carried it off with effortless confidence!

Next-level elegance

Why settle for one look when you can have two? For her first-ever Grammy win, Doechii doubled the drama in another Thom Browne number—a raglan-sleeve armband jacket with high-waisted pannier trousers over a tuxedo-style corset. A white Oxford shirt and wool tie sharpened the ensemble, while platform brogues grounded it with a bold finish.

Another look that caught our eye was the layered pleated mini-shirt dress by British-Nigerian designer Tolu Coker, elevated by a multicoloured tie that added a vibrant touch to the beige ensemble.

For her Tiny Desk Concert, Doechii delivered oversized elegance with a hint of attitude. She stepped out in a Willy Chavaria look featuring a white jacket over a beige collared shirt, topped off with a copper brown tie and dark vanilla denim.

Doechii has a way of making preppy feel fresh, cool, and effortlessly feminine. Her Gucci look for ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’ was the perfect example—a navy piqué polo shirt paired with a GG canvas skirt. And those interlaced braids? No notes. Simply iconic.

Flirting with the rules of fashion, the Swamp Princess mixed a striped knit polo with a green Miu Miu swimsuit at Camp Flog Gnaw, putting a playful spin on the underwear-as-outerwear trend. Then came the scarlet leather pumps—sharp and sultry.

Chic clash

Doechii brought texture play to the Give Her FlowHers Awards gala in Los Angeles, accepting The Visionary Award in a Christopher John Rogers design—a cotton-blend tank paired with an inside-out skirt of black cancan and horsehair.

Trust Doechii to bring the heat to New York Fashion Week! At the Off-White show, she turned heads in a leather zip-up dress with sky-high slits, punctuated by bold red and white beadwork.
