How-to: Ace the millennial pink trend

If there’s one reason for monochromatic zealots to deviate from their usual style (read: everything in grayscale), it’s likely the millennial pink trend. What exactly is this shade of pink, you ask? Also termed as Tumblr pink, it is a delicate, pastel hue that straddles the line between salmon, beige and peach. While it isn’t exactly a new occurrence—some say that it’s been around since 2012—designers have taken a liking to this colour since SS17, so much that we declared it the new nude of 2017. Not surprisingly, celebrities are also jumping on this trendwagon, the most recent being Gigi Hadid who rocked head-to-toe millennial pink in broad daylight for a launch party. The modern-day Barbie lookalike channeled major early ’00 vibes (or Lizzie McGuire, according to her sister Bella Hadid) in a metallic pink biker jacket and matching leather pants by Kreist. If you’re inspired to take on this snazzy shade and revamp your closet, here are 12 items you can’t go wrong with:
