Our way of life has changed. The effects of the COVID-19 pandemic are clear. As Malaysians continue to stay at home and self-isolate, we all have to find ways to bring back some normalcy into our lives. If you love dining out, restaurants are delivering during MCO. If you’re a massive fan of burnt cheesecakes, you can still get them from these places. Can’t head to your favourite gyms? You can still get moving with these options.

The Holy Month of Ramadan usually sees Malaysians buying their favourite meals from bazaars or breaking fast at special festive buffets. Although that will not be possible right now, that doesn’t mean that you can’t still get delicious classics. These places in KL have curated Iftar meal sets you can order—that will be delivered to you so you can feast at home with your loved ones.

1. Shangri-La Hotel Kuala Lumpur

The hotel has put together three different Iftar sets to choose from. The Feast consists of dishes such as Ayam Kapitan Berkentang (Chicken Kapitan with Potatoes), Kari Kepala Ikan (Fish Head Curry with Lady Finger and Eggplant), Dhall Cha Sayur (Lentil Stew with Mixed Vegetables and Spices), Tunisia Dates, Steamed Rice, and Tropical Fruits.

As for The Horizon, you get the same dishes with the addition of Daging Masak Rendang Pedas (Beef in Malay Herbs and Dry Coconut Sauce) and Cheesecake. The Shangri-La set comes with Nasi Biryani Kambing (Lamb Shank with Biryani Rice) and Chocolate Cake—on top of everything from the other two sets. You will also get Malay Kuih Muih and Ulam-Ulaman Kampung (Local Salad with Chili Dip) when you order any of the three options.

A minimum order for three persons is applicable for all Ramadan delivery sets and they are available daily from 10am to 4pm.

2. Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur

Chef Muhd Mujtahid Lukman has curated an array of Malaysian favourites in the form of three festive sets. Set A consists of dishes such as Sotong Kangkung, Soto Ayam, Beef Shortrib Rendang Minang, Tenggiri Goreng Berempah, Ayam Masak Merah, Sayur Lodeh, Nasi Putih, Nasi Pandan Tumis, Bubur Cha Cha, and Dates.

As for Set B, you’ll get the likes of Tauhu Sumbat BakarSup Daging BerempahAyam Bakar with Percik GravyUdang Sambal Petai, and Kambing Kuzi with Cashew Nuts. 3. EQ Kuala Lumpur

The hotel’s Nipah has prepared a specially curated delivery menu called Citarasa Nipah—with classic recipes that have been shared over generations of Hotel Equatorial’s illustrious history. There are four different sets of individual meals.

The menu consists of crowd favorites such as Briyani Gam Johor with a choice of Chicken, Lamb or Tandoori Chicken, and Hainanese Chicken Rice. The full menu is provided in the link below.

There is also the Citarasa Nipah Family Set for a family of six. It comes with dishes such as Mariami Dates, Kambing Bakar Ala Nipah, Ayam Golek with Sos Percik, and Ayam Kurma Berkentang. There are three options to choose from.

Specially curated by Executive Sous Chef Budiman and his team of culinary experts, there are six set menus to choose from. Feast on signature dishes such as Le Méridien Nasi Minyak Haruman Air Mawar, Bubur Lambuk, Beef Rendang with Coconut Flakes, and Roasted Whole Lamb with Cous Cous and Vegetables.

The restaurant’s “Selera Kampung—Taste of the Village” seasonal menu is curated by Chef Chuan and his culinary team. The menu is available daily (throughout the fasting month) for takeaway from the Alila Bangsar outlet or by delivery. The Family Meal Combo consists of five dishes, with your choice of one item per category: rice, seafood, egg or vegetable, beef or lamb, and chicken. Suitable for a group of five or six, the set also comes with one bottle of Coke, one bottle of Sprite, and dates.

Curated by Chef Hasbullah and his kitchen team, the special Ramadan menu features some of Chef’s personal favourites—from Nasi Tomato with Ayam Masak Merah to Nasi Kerabu to Soto Ayam. The set meals come complete with dates.

There are four sets to choose from: Set A consists of Nasi Tomato, Ayam Masak Merah, Jelatah, and Papadom whereas Set B comprises of Nasi Kerabu, Ayam Goreng Rempah, Telur Masin, Kelapa Parut Ikan, and Keropok Ikan.

Set C has Nasi Putih, Kari Ikan Tenggiri, and Sup Soto Ayam. As for Set D, you’ll get Nasi Putih, Kari Ayam Nyonya, and Sup Soto Ayam. There is also an ala carte menu with options such as Maya Nasi Goreng, Salmon Teriyaki with Mesclun Salad and Steamed Japanese Rice, as well as Bubur Pulut Hitam.
