Mini Malaysia welcomes the Countryman Plug-In-Hybrid and Cooper S Countryman Sport

Stealing the spotlights on the road, Mini Malaysia introduces its first Plug-In-Hybrid to the market. Agile, versatile and electrifying, the new Mini Countryman Plug-In Hybrid accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in 6.8 seconds, reaching a maximum speed of up to 198km/h while consuming at most an average of 2.1 litres per 100km of fuel. It also offers an all-electric driving range of up to 42km with a maximum speed of up to 120km/h. Running on gasoline, electric power or both, the hybrid gives you a flexible range of power preference.

eDrive

Spoilt for choice, the hybrid features an eDrive button which gives options to the driver choosing between different electric drive modes: the standard Auto eDrive mode, the purely electric Max eDrive mode, and the Save Battery mode, in which charging status of the high-voltage battery is sustained at a constant level.

The inside

The interior of this hybrid features Mini Yours Walknappa Leather Steering Wheel. Adding its artisan touch is the aluminium-coloured contrast stitching, which sets a little attitude. For the tech savvy, this high-resolution 6.5″ touch screen display in the Mini Centre Instrument supports multi-touch with pinch to zoom-in functionality for maps and typing, giving the driver excellence in navigation.

Offered in a generous range of shades to choose from, the combination of a black roof complementing various body colours are Chili Red, British Racing Green, Thunder Grey, Light White, and Melting Silver, while those who prefer a white roof may opt for Island Blue.

Moments after revealing the latest Country Plug-In-Hybrid, Mini Malaysia introduced its new Cooper S Countryman Sport. The latest locally assembled Mini Cooper S Countryman Sports makes Malaysia as the first market in the world to locally assemble the new Mini Countryman. “Since unveiling the new Mini Countryman here last year, we have already delivered more than 200 units of the vehicle. The new Mini Cooper S Countryman Sports will build on this success as the premium sports activity vehicle now offers more power, exclusive enhancements and more fun to the Mini driving characteristics,” said Mini Malaysia head, Kidd Yam.

Performance

The Sport accelerates from 0 to 100kph in 7.2 seconds before reaching a top speed of 224kph at a respectable 6.5 litres per 100km of fuel. Generating a smoother journey providing better driving dynamism than before, are the 19-inch Mini John Copper Works Course Spoke wheels with run-flat tyres, sports suspension system.

Park Assist

Additionally with the latest feature of the Park Assist, the Control Display can now show the estimated size of your parking space. Once a space has been detected, it is measured by ultrasound sensors before the Park Assistant works out the best move to approach the space and takes control of the steering. You can now leave your hands free and just step on the accelerator and brake pedals.

The new-in locally assembled Mini Cooper S Countryman Sports is available in a variety of dual-colour schemes. The option of a black roof complements shades such as Chili Red, British Racing Green, Thunder Grey, and Light White. Alternatively, those who prefer a white roof are limited to either Chili Red or British Racing Green.
