This weekend in Kuala Lumpur sees: the first ever Lift Festival to the return of a popular collectors market and more

 

1. A Space To__ X French Stitch Book-Binding Workshop at A space to__, 2pm – 6pm, 29 December 2019

This Sunday, why not learn a new skill before the beginning of the next decade? The workshop aims to equip you with the know-how of bookbinding. You will be able to create journals for yourself or as gifts. Even better, paper, size, and shape can be customised to match your purpose. Materials you'll be bringing home include an A5 hardcover book, note sheets, and a basic three-piece kit. The workshop is priced at RM160 per person and prior booking is required.

2. Fuyoh Collectors Market at Publika, 10am – 10pm, 28 & 29 December 2019

The popular market is back this weekend! Expect more than 60 booths featuring a plethora of antiques, vintage, toys, comics, records, music memorabilia, and collectibles among many others. You might just find something that will spark the necessary end-of-year joy. You never know!

3. Community Yoga with Robyn Lau at APW Bangsar, 9am – 10am, 28 December 2019

This weekly event (with no sign-up or fee required) introduces you to the fundamentals of yoga. Throughout the session, you will garner knowledge on how to practise, what to pay attention to, what to expect, and how to continue to achieve results. Mats are not provided but anyone is welcome. Don't forget to wear comfortable exercise attire.

4. Festive Dome at Planetarium360 at Dataran Putrajaya, 10am – 12am, 28 & 29 December 2019

The one-of-a kind pop-up introduces light structuring technology as well as special interactive audio and visual effects. This is a new experience for anyone visiting the Festival Light And Motion Putrajaya. Entry is priced at RM20 (Standard), RM10 (MyKad), and RM5 (Senior Citizens).

5. Putrajaya Lift Festival at Menara Perkeso, Bangunan Suasana PjH, and the Ministry of Finance Complex, 10am, 28 & 29 December 2019

This weekend, look forward to an experiential event. There will be a series of activities and programmes centred around talks, e-commerce, music, high-tech performing arts, banking, entrepreneurship, conference, sports, e-sports, education, and food. With the aim of educating and engaging the public on the future, this is the first time that an event of this embodiment is happening here in Malaysia. There will be 10 street performers from 10 different countries, including Argentina, Spain, South Korea, United Kingdom, Sweden, The Netherlands, and Hungary. Some local musicans that will be performing during the Indievaganza programme are Noh Salleh, Kyoto Protocol, and Pastel Lite. In addition to performances, expect markets featuring food, traditional Malaysian medicine, local antique products, and exotic plants. You might even spot your favourite influencers at Pasar Glam—a retail space spanning 12,500 square feet consisting of lifestyle, fashion, and beauty products.

6. Mexican Ladies Night at Hilton Petaling Jaya, 6pm – 10pm, 28 December 2019
