The Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur is no stranger to any fellow Malaysian. Built in the 1930s, it’s iconic and even documented as a national heritage site under the Antiquities Act. Besides its impeccable design that resembles the time of old with modern touches, its 300 luxurious rooms and suites and everything within, the hotel’s location on Jalan Sultan Hishamuddin opposite the old Moorish-style railway station is its other key charm.
Somewhere closer to the heart of KL, on the other hand, is Hotel Stripes Kuala Lumpur on historical Jalan Kamunting. Set to open on 12 February 2017, it houses 184 bespoke guest rooms and suites that are a unique blend of contemporary design and urban chic while still reflecting the history and character of the neighbourhood, which includes the reincarnation of The Row.
